Confession of Sin

Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm Chapter 5

⁽¹⁾ Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. ⁽²⁾ Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. ⁽³⁾ My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up. ⁽⁴⁾ For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.

Psalm Chapter 6

Genesis Chapter 3

⁽¹⁾ Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, 'Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?' ⁽²⁾ And the woman said to the serpent, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; ⁽³⁾ but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' ' ⁽⁴⁾ Then the serpent said to the woman, 'You will not surely die.

⁽⁵⁾ For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.' ⁽⁶⁾ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. Hebrews Chapter 2

⁽¹⁾ Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. ⁽²⁾ For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, ⁽³⁾ how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, ⁽⁴⁾ God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

⁽⁵⁾ For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. ⁽⁶⁾ But one testified in a certain place, saying: 'What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? ⁽⁷⁾ You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. ⁽⁸⁾ You have put all things in subjection under his feet.' For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

⁽⁹⁾ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

John Chapter 1

Are you Elijah?' He said, 'I am not.' 'Are you the Prophet?' And he answered, 'No.' ⁽²²⁾ Then they said to him, 'Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?'

⁽²³⁾ He said: 'I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Make straight the way of the LORD,' ' as the prophet Isaiah said.' ⁽²⁴⁾ Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. ⁽²⁵⁾ And they asked him, saying, 'Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?' ⁽²⁶⁾ John answered them, saying, 'I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.

⁽²⁷⁾ It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.' ⁽²⁸⁾ These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,

The Apostles' Creed

Thanksgiving
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.

Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his Name you will be in the midst of them: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting.
