Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Gospel
John 6:41-51
Deacon:The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you. Or And with your spirit
Deacon: May the Lord be on our minds, on our lips, and on our hearts as we hear His Holy Gospel. The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Saint John.
People: Glory to You, Lord Christ.
Deacon: We are reading from John's Gospel chapter 6, beginning at verse 41.
41 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, 'I am the bread which came down from heaven.' 42 And they said, 'Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I have come down from heaven'?' 43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, 'Do not murmur among yourselves. 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. 47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.'
After the Gospel reading, the deacon elevates the book and says:
Deacon: The Gospel of the Lord.
People: Praise to You, Lord Christ.
Prayers of the People
Brothers and sisters, the Lord has told us that when the righteous cry out, He hears them.
Therefore, let us bring our needs before our Lord.
That the Church will manifest the same love and forgiveness to a lost and dying world that God demonstrated to us in Christ Jesus.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That Church leaders will live lives holy and pleasing to the Lord and examples to their flock.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That leaders of nations will enact laws that are in accordance with God's Word.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That those who live in despair and hopelessness will find their needs met in Christ.
Who has a plan for their life.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That God will raise up from our children, men and women committed to the ministry of furthering the Gospel to the next generation.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That Jesus, Who is the Great Deliverer, will deliver those calling out to Him from their addictions to drugs, alcohol and any sin that so easily entangles them.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
For our own special intentions.
(Pause) Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Loving Father, just as You fed Your people Israel Manna in the wilderness and fed Elijah on his journey to Horeb, so You feed us today in the Eucharist.
Hear our prayer and give us the grace to be a grateful people for the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
