The fourth CEC Church Development Seminar concluded on 16 April, with a time of prayer, over the Patriarch and in turn each and every attendee.
Each morning the CEC Church Development Seminar met for Eucharistic Service, and time of worship and hearing the word for our churches from the Patriarch. Following the service, a time of discussion of the message, what obstacles we faced, and success stories & experiences.
After lunch on Tuesday, we heard from Fr Brett Crompton on reaching and keeping men, and how to effectively minister to them. On Wednesday we heard from Fr Terry Hedrick on how he grew his church from his living room to a full parish church in 4 years. On Thursday we heard Fr Alan Melanson speak about reaching and keeping young adults and the effect of technology.
Each seminar had time for open discussion and questions. Each night was followed by a time to get to know one another and learn for each other.
Next year’s meeting will be held in conjunction with the CEC National Clergy Convocation. For information to be published shortly.
